98 original black and white photos, some taken by photographers Zangake Brothers and Sebah, with French inscriptions. Photos depict life in Egypt. Early photos include a map of the Suez canal with a likeness of Mehemet - Aly, Ismael Pacha, and Said Pacha, along with photos of shipping along the canal. Ancient temple ruins adorned with carvings and statuary. Cairo street and market scenes and skylines. A wedding procession with camels adorned with long fringes and decorations, carrying drums and riders. Desert bedouins on camelback and landscape scenes of the great pyramids, the sphynx, and a desert oasis. A panoramic view of the Valley of the Kings, photos of the passageways through the tombs and actual mummies. Also a photo of the Colossi Of Memnon (Amenhotep III) at the Theban Necropolis and a photograph of the carved statues of Prince Rahotep and Nefert from the 4th dynasty. All mounted in a leather hardbound album with gilt boards, spine and page edges. "Egypt" in gilt letters across the front board.
