JAMES TISSOT FRENCH (1836-1902), ETCHING, 1878, H 13", W 9", "A DULL STORY"

A James Tissot etching titled "Une Histoire Ennuyeuse" or "A Dull Story." Previously owned by Lord John Dayton. Pencil signed lower left margin. Red monogram stamp (Lught 1545). First edition, c. 100 impressions (no edition number). Reference Wentworth 32 and Tissot 28. Depicting a young woman in a bonnet perusing maps on a table. William Weston Gallery, London label (see photo detail).
